CHOOSING THE RIGHT BEARD STYLE FOR YOUR FACE

We’ve just had the first cold snap for the year and winter is coming and coming fast. Want to beat the season? Grow a beard and keep your chops nice and toasty. If you haven’t grown a beard before or you are wondering which style of beard will work best for you? Read on, as we break down these winter coats of masculinity.
Some blokes believe that they don’t suit having a beard when in actual fact they just don’t suit the beard styles that they have experimented with. More times than not, this is because they have chosen the wrong beard style for their face shape. Let’s take a look at which beard styles compliment the different types of face shape.
Beards For Round Faces
Stick to the beard styles that are longer at the chin and shorter on the sides. A bushy beard will lead the eyes across the face and this can be unflattering because it makes the face appear to be wider. Longer, pointier styles on the other hand will lead the eyes downwards which can make the face appear slimmer. Ask the barber to blend down the sides while keeping it long.
Beards For Square Faces
Round or triangular beard shapes are the go to styles here as they can soften the sharp angles and strong jawline of a square face shape. Avoid squared off beard styles as they accentuate a broad jawline.
Beards For Long Faces
Long face shapes are better suited to beards that are full on the sides and do not have too much length below the chin. This offers width by keeping the eyes up on the face instead of being led up and down a long beard.
Balding Men
Growing a beard can be amazing for balding men as the facial growth can offset the hair loss, provide balance and bring back confidence. If you are the type of bloke that struggles to grow a full beard or has patchy growth, try for a goatee. This combo’s especially well for those with long hair as it provides that grungy rock star look.
