It all started in a small Florentine laboratory in Italy, the year is 1948. It was a time of innovation and change and they were experimenting with formulas and products and were laying the foundation of a small business that they envisaged to grow. It was in this same year that they released the first Pre and After Shave Cream, it was quickly embraced by Italian barbers and then by an ever-growing number of home shavers, the way of shaving had changed forever.
This first line of shaving products from Proraso is still their staple today and it has a unique Australian connection in that its central ingredient is eucalyptus oil. The same stuff that keeps koalas so cool and cruisy all summer is what gives the primary line of products their refreshing and protective characteristics.
Proraso have expanded their offerings to include specialist lines that meet the needs of different skin types and various facial characteristics such as those with coarser beards. On top of this they have more recently launched their Single Blade range of barbershop exclusive products. There are three fragrances in Wood and Spice, Azur Lime and Cypress & Vetyver, each includes a shaving cream, after shave balm, cologne, beard wash, beard balm and beard oil.
