The event ran each night over the weekend from Friday through to Sunday and there was live entertainment provided each night.  With premium cuts on offer for just $10 there was no shortage of support and a good cue of people were willing to take up the offer, many people going deeper in to their wallet to show support for what the team were out to achieve, raising funds for a good cause.

Earlier in the day Friday and with the local NBN News team in pursuit, the Newcastle Jets front man and 2017/18 player of the year Dimitri Petratos was in the barbershop on level 2 to show his community spirit and support before heading off to prepare for the Newcastle Jets weekend fixture against the Perth Glory.

Master Barber and event organiser Mike Helwe from Barber Industries Kotara spoke about the success of the weekend:

"This weekend we tried to raise money for The Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia, we offered water, cool drinks, muffins, and $10 hair cuts from the team here at Barber Industries Kotara. It is rewarding for us to be able to help, it is for those families with kids who are sick and that can be very tough, so it really is for a great cause. The event wen’t well, we raised much needed funds and we thank everyone who participated and everyone who donated."
