A PARENTS GUIDE TO HAIRCUTS FOR PRE SCHOOL BOYS

Pre school boys that are no longer toddlers are starting to become much more self aware and are at an age where they can start to explore their own identity. If they are not real keen on going to the barbers for a haircut, providing them with the choice of hairstyles can be a good way to encourage them while also empowering them with the ability to make some decisions for themselves.
If the young fellas are looking a little rag tag and you desire a haircut as a parent, instead of presenting a choice to get a haircut or not you can encourage them along to the barbershop by providing them with a choice between different hairstyles. This way the boys make a decision within the constructs of the options provided and their focus is on choosing their preferred hairstyle instead of worrying about whether or not they should be getting a haircut in the first place.
When they have made a decision, the photo used can be brought along to the barbershop as a reference image for the barber and to reiterate their choice if need be.
If the hustle and bustle of the barbershop gets the young man uneasy, a parent can remind him of all the hairstyles that he was choosing between and how the barbers are cutting all those fascinating hairstyles onto all of the other clients at the barbershop.
It can be reassuring to remind them of their decision making and to outline how proud you are of them for making their own choice. It is equally important to provide plenty of praise on how handsome they look once the barber has completed the haircut.
The regular haircut may seem like such an insignificant event at this young age, however, it can be a wonderful opportunity for empowerment and development if utilised correctly.
