THE PREVENTION AND CURE OF BEARD-DRUFF

April 6, 2022

Dandruff is a common scalp concern however it can also form in your beard. Both forms are caused by the same things. The only main difference between the two is the way in which they are managed. Avoiding beard-ruff and maintaining a healthy beard requires a few easy steps and a proper grooming routine.

What Is This Beard-druff You Speak Of?

Bread-druff is of course dandruff of the beard, red, itchy, scaly and flaky skin. It predominantly occurs due to a microbe called Malassezia globosa, which grows in oily areas of the body. Two areas where excess oil tends to easily accumulate is on the scalp and under the beard. Beard-druff can also be the result of dry skin or from sensitivity to grooming products.

What are the Best Ways to Relieve Beard-druff?

The best way to manage beard-ruff is though a routine of exfoliation, cleansing and moisturising. This routine will not only get rid of beard-ruff but will also prevent it from coming back.
  • Exfoliate:

Exfoliating is a common practice that helps to remove dead skin cells. For beard-ruff, exfoliate with the help of a beard brush. You will see a clear difference in just a few days once you start exfoliating your beard. For a deep exfoliation try Proraso’s Beard Exfoliating Paste.

  • Cleanse:

Wash your beard with a specially formulated beard wash. We stock several varieties here at Barber Industries Morisset. Good beard wash is gentle on the skin but powerful enough to clean away dirt, grime and dead skin cells. The wash will moisturise the skin while controlling your natural oils.

  • Moisturise:

The importance of moisturising can't be understated. You should apply a quality beard oil, balm or cream to your beard every day at the very minimum. For good routine, apply after washing and drying in the morning and evening.

How to Best Prevent Against Beard-druff?

To sum it up, beard-ruff is a problem that can be prevented with a very simple solution. You just have to be willing to put in the ground of a simple grooming routine. This routine should include washing, brushing, and moisturising to ensure a healthy and luscious beard.
