MOVEMBER - HELP CHANGE THE FACE OF MEN’S HEALTH

November 2, 2021

Movember has arrived for another season and for those who are unaware, Movember is a movement that is primarily about growing a moustache in a bid to raise awareness and to raise funds for much needed research into men's health. Let’s take a closer look at this charity/foundation and outline the ways in which you can get involved to help make a difference.

Movember - Mo Your Own WayMovember - Host A Mo-MentMovember - Move for MovemberMovember - Grow A Moustache

Movember is the brain child of a group of mates from Melbourne, cooked up over a couple of quiet beers at the pub. From those humble beginnings, Movember has grown into a world wide movement with well over 5 million participants globally. The foundation funds men’s health projects with the goal of helping men live happier, healthier and longer lives. There are multiple ways to get involved this year, so let’s break it down:

Grow A Moustache

With the slogan of 'whatever you grow will save bro’, the most traditional way to be involved is by growing a moustache and gathering sponsorships or donations. Sign up is easy at movember.com. The rules for this one is to start with a clean shave and then grow a moustache for the month of November (Movember). Your new moustache should raise an eyebrow or two and this conversation can lead to others participating making a donation.

Move For Movember

Go the distance and stop men dying too young. Run or walk 60km over the month. That’s 60km for the 60 men that are lost to suicide each hour, every hour across the world. You don’t have to be an ultra-athlete, or own the latest kicks, it is a lot simpler than that. Ot is completely up to you how you run or walk and it doesn’t matter if you take it fast, take it slow or do it on the treadmill.

Host A Mo-Ment

Plan a get together in person or virtually, collect donations and bam, that’s hosting a Mo-ment. Whatever kind of shindig you plan, the secret is simplicity. Pick an activity that’s fun and easy, get your friends on board and collect donations. As long as you’re having fun and doing good, you’re nailing it.

Mo Your Own Way

Go big, go bold and go hard for men’s health. A choose-your-own-adventure challenge, Mo Your Own Way means that you get to make the rules. The best challenges tend to prompt the response “you’re doing what?!” Get creative and push your limits. Whether it’s a test of physical endurance or a pledge to kick a bad habit – it’s whatever Mo Your Own Way means to you.

Get Involved

With all the chaos of the lockdowns and the added pressures that they caused, there is even more work to be done to stop men dying before their time. Help change the face of men's health for the better by signing up at movember.com.
