November 15, 2021
After the recent grand opening of Barber Industries at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast, we have a quick Q&A catch up with the main man behind the barbershop chair, Master Barber and proprietor Mr. Benny Noamouz.

The new barbershop looks truely amazing, you guys have created something pretty special with the design of the space, can you tell us a little more about Barber Industries.

Yeah sure, and that’s exactly what we set out to achieve. So, firstly the Barber Industries brand started out in Sydney in 2015 before spreading up and down the coast and across the county to Perth. Now here with my barbershop at Pacific Fair, we wanted to create a space that is inviting, comfortable and in line with core design ethos of the brand, which is blending the tradition, aesthetics and nostalgia of the old world barbershop with the modern comforts of today’s world.

An exciting time with the grand opening just in time for the Christmas shopping period and it looks like things are keeping busy. Surely a very gratifying experience to progress through to completion and then to open the doors to the barbershop?

It is actually an extremely busy and exhilarating time for me at the moment. As well as opening up the barbershop, myself and my wife are also expecting our first child any day now, so it’s been somewhat of an emotional and frenzied journey. A great feeling to be open and we are growing, day by day, people are starting to become aware that we are here, it takes a little bit of time for that. People first need to become aware that there is an option available and then we still need to get them into the barbershop to experience what we are about, what our culture is, what makes coming to us and giving us a try a good move.

The service menu includes, hair washes, traditional shaves with hot towels as well as haircuts and styling. There is also a large retail component. Is the offering here at Barber Industries more in depth than the typical barbershop?

To a large degree we are also busy performing haircuts, however, we are positioned to cater to the broader needs of our clients. We have an extended offering for our adolescent and adult male customers which includes face and beard treatments like beard sculpting, shaping and shaving. We also stock a range of retail items that are very specific for the needs of these men. We have a number of barbershop only brands and stock razors, soaps, shaving brushes, beard oils, balms and colognes. There are prestige products as well as all of the essentials to service their grooming needs.

How has the response been from the community. Making many a new connection no doubt?

The feedback is really important to me and the team and we are getting really positive vibes from everyone, it is evident that our clients like what we are offering, they are enjoying the service, the level of professionalism from the team and no doubt a fair and honest price too. We offer kids, high school, pensioner and seniors card discounts and we offer those rates at all times, seven days a week, so we are hopeful that it is inviting. We extend those rates even on weekends and it creates a good atmosphere, we get the whole family coming in. You know?, a bustling and busy barbershop is a good one!

Any final words to wrap up?

We invite everyone to just roll in and grab a seat, no booking necessary. If it is busy, take a moment on the bench seat to chill out and relax, all part of the experience.
